Today is wash day for me; and i have come across some interesting things this weekend.
Shikakai Powder was first. Its suposed to help with Dandruff (which i have...) and it's natural so it's very good for your hair. So i went and got some to try out. (comes in a little box with a plastic bag inside)
Then i found out about the Tightly Curly Method (if you just gooogle that in it will come up) it kind of embraces the fact that our curls should not be treated like that of a white person. (Horrible grammar of mine!) It teaches you how to keep your hair moisturized etc etc....
If you find this interesting or helpful (Or maybe you might have a question...) feel free to leave a comment below. i know this was short but i had to make it quick. so if you are confused, or would like to learn more feel free to comment that and i will get to you as soon as possible.

Something New
Today I was washing my hair, and decided to try something new.
I had read an article saying that drying your hair with a towel will damage your hair and create frizzes and flyaways and that using an old t-shirt is better.
I found that the article was right; no frizzes and flyaways! Plus my hair felt great!
So, will I do this again? Definetly!
Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes!

How to take care of natural hair
Hi Guys!
Day 2 of my hair growth challenge!
I just wanted to talk a little bit on how I take care of my hair.
I usually wash my hair on Sunday and it takes me a couple of hours to wash and style. I do not use the wash and go method because my hair is very thick and dry.
So, what I will do is part my hair into 4-6 sections, combing each section and putting it in a twist. Then I will go to the shower and shampoo my hair 2-3 times; after that I will condition my hair once and leave it in while i go and wash my body. Then I will come back, and rinse my hair. When I dry my hair, I sort of dab and squeeze the water out with a towel. After that I moisturize my hair and style it, usually in a bunch of small twists. At the end of the week I will some times rook a twist out.
Now to break it down:
This is what I wish to try:

Now every ones hair is different, but I would like to give it a try, tweak it a bit to fit my hair needs.
I'll let you know how it goes! ;D

Now to break it down:
- I comb my hair and put it into sections of 4 or 6 (6 is best)The purpose is to keep your hair detangled as you wash it. It also makes it easier to style. ;D
- I shampoo my hair 2 to 3 times. Note: I am only scrubbing the shampoo in at the base, I am more gentle with the rest of my hair.
- I condition my hair once or twice. Note: I do not put the conditioner on my scalp and I pay close attention to the tips.
- Then I dry my hair gently with a towel.
- After that I moisturize my hair with coconut oil paying close attention to the ends of my hair.
- The rest is up to me. sometimes I leave as is and sometimes will style my hair.
- Every other day I will apply water coconut oil or apricot oil to my hair to keep it
moisturized. (especially the ends!)

My Goal
Hi Guys!
Today starts the day i will be working toward my goal of waist length hair! i will be posting hair style tutorials, tips, and things I've learned over the years.
I have been natural for at least 3 years now. (Yay!!!)
It all started back in 2010, i was constantly flat ironing my hair or applying some type of heat to my hair with nothing to protect it. My hair suffered from heat damage and was dull and dingy. At that time my hair was in between sholder and armpit length. today (Aug 27,2014) my hair is now bra-strap length. i did not do anything spesal to my hiar. at that time i was still learning.
for those who wish to know.... my hair is type 3a/b/c and type 2b.
my ultimate goal is (this is a dream...) ankle length.
If i make it that would be awesome.
Join me on my hair journey to healthy happy hair.
